Black Bun Run

The Black Bun Run will take place on Hogmanay at 7:00 pm - the start and finish is just over from Feathers (formerly The Masons Arms), Belhaven, Dunbar.

This is a dash of just over a mile and is open to Dunbar Running Club members, their friends and family.  We have had several juniors taking part in the race over the years, but please be aware that there is a road crossing, so it is better that any younger runners have an adult accompanying them.

We usually have a drink or two in Feathers afterwards.

If anyone is available to do the time-keeping, please let Anne know before the event.

Festive Races

A bit more notice than usual - the date for the Festive Half Marathon and 10K will take place on Sunday 7th December.
For those of you who have never taken part before, this is an informal event for Dunbar Running Club members (and friends or family who would like to take part), members of HELP and MADAC.  Fancy dress is optional - we have had a few Santas, elves, snowmen etc. over the last few years.

The idea in the past has been that the race has is handicapped with the aim of everyone finishing at 12:00 (or as near as possible). This year we are introducing a wee twist, the aim is to beat the clock - in other words you can pick your start time, but to win, you will have to be the last person to start who finishes before noon.  It means no one can give themselves an overly generous time to get round to make sure they hit the finish line before 12:00 (well, you can but you won't be the winner!).

We will send out a reminder nearer the time so we can get an idea of numbers of people wanting to take part - Anne will be taking names and there will be refreshments afterwards at Hallhill.

Please park with consideration - traffic wardens will issue tickets to anyone parking illegally.

Keith on his recent cruise round Italy, running in his Dunbar kit.

Perhaps we should have a revival of the competition for club members wearing their kit in the most far-flung places!
