"FESTIVE HALF"......... (AND 10K)

"FESTIVE HALF"......... (AND 10K)

The date for this will be Sunday 6th December.

An invitation has again been extended to members of Musselburgh AC and HELP, so we hope to see quite a few runners on the day (fancy dress optional!).

Please let Stuart know if you are taking part and your anticipated time.  Remember this is a handicapped event - the intention is that everyone will finish at 12:00 noon, so the start times will by staggered, based on how long you think it will take to do your chosen distance.

BORDERS CROSS COUNTRY - 2009/2010

BORDERS CROSS COUNTRY - 2009/2010

The dates for the 2009/2010 Borders Cross Country Series have now been set. The dates are:-

Date    Venue
15/11/09        Norham
29/11/09        Lauder
13/12/09        Dunbar
10/01/10        Gala’
31/01/10        Berwick
28/02/10        Peebles

Course details will be published on the cross country section of the Norham website ( http://www.norhamrc.co.uk/ ).

Race start times are as previous years. Junior races start at 11:30 and senior races start at 12:00 (may be slightly later if junior races overrun). Runners are advised to turn up early for the first race to help ease congestion at registration.

Costs for the 2009/2010 series are £12 for seniors and £6 for juniors. This is a one off payment that enters the athlete for all six races.

 Note:

This series has become increasingly popular in recent years and runners are reminded that an influx of runners into small communities can cause parking problems. Runners are asked to share transport wherever possible and to park vehicles considerately. As ever, runners are asked to act with consideration for local residents. Runners should also be aware that changing and toilet facilities may, in some cases, be spartan”.

POLL - THE RESULTS

POLL - THE RESULTS

Well, the results of another highly scientific poll are in…. and what an ungrateful bunch we are!

Only 34% of respondents keep and cherish all those hard earned medals, while 45% of us bung ‘em in a drawer.

A surprising 10% of us regard them as useless clutter and dispose of them while 9% at least keep the ones that are “special”.

All makes you wonder why race organisers bother really.

Anyway. Another exciting poll can be found to your right, and up a bit.

London Marathon 2010

The club has been given two places for the 2010 London Marathon!

If anyone has been unsuccessful in the ballot for the London Marathon (we already know of one person), please let Anne know as soon as possible if you would still like a place.  If there are more than two people, we will do the usual drawing the names out of a hat to determine who gets the entries.
