Scottish Borders Hill Race Series

Apologies that this is too late for the first race, but was only received this week. Colin Williams is coordinating the inaugural "Scottish Borders Hill Race Series" sponsored by James Jones & Sons Ltd. The basic website is here: Scottish Borders Hill Race Series  (http://bordershillraces.blogspot.co.uk/). .

The series consists of 10 short to medium races throughout the Borders in Spring and Summer. It is open to anyone over 18 years old and participants will have to complete a minimum of 5 races to qualify for a series placing. If you do more races then your 5 highest finishes will count.

The overall idea is a bit of prestige but also to increase numbers and promote the different races throughout the beautiful Scottish Borders in an increasing busy calendar. There is no additional fee or registration required to enter the series. To take part you simply need to enter the participating races as normal which are mainly Entry On the Day (EOD) except the Eildons and Baddinsgill which are pre-entry only.

Winton Trail Run - 9th April 2016

Dear Runners,

Winton House are delighted to announce that online entries for the 2016 Winton Trail Run 10k, 5k & 3.5k are now open.

Formerly the Pencaitland Fun Run, the event is now into its 6th year and offers a unique opportunity to run off road through some of East Lothian's most beautiful countryside and the estate of Winton House.

This year we are delighted to be able to support the work of Marie Curie Cancer Care as well as local registered charities, the Pencaitland Primary School PTA and Pencaitland Playgroup, with the funds raised.

There are clearly marked and marshalled off road routes for everyone to enjoy with hot & cold refreshments available throughout the afternoon. A new addition of a heated marquee in a prime location to see the finish line should enable runners and spectators to enjoy the event... whatever the weather!

We hope very much you will join us this year in what we hope will be a thoroughly enjoyable event!

Many thanks,

Janis Ward

Lasswade 10 mile Road Race

With the new year out of the way and the 2016 health regime picking up pace, I thought I would send a reminder round Club Secretarys reminding them of Lasswade AC's  10 Mile Road Race on 6 March 2016.

Numbers are filling quite well with more than half the places taken already.

With only a matter of weeks to go I would ask that you consider pushing this email out to adult members for what is sure to be a testing run over a hilly course.

They can still sign up via Entrycentral at  http://www.entrycentral.com/Lasswade-Road-Race

Your help in this matter is appreciated and I look forward to seeing many of your club vests on the day

Best regards

Brian
