Winton Trail Run - 9th April 2016

Dear Runners,

Winton House are delighted to announce that online entries for the 2016 Winton Trail Run 10k, 5k & 3.5k are now open.

Formerly the Pencaitland Fun Run, the event is now into its 6th year and offers a unique opportunity to run off road through some of East Lothian's most beautiful countryside and the estate of Winton House.

This year we are delighted to be able to support the work of Marie Curie Cancer Care as well as local registered charities, the Pencaitland Primary School PTA and Pencaitland Playgroup, with the funds raised.

There are clearly marked and marshalled off road routes for everyone to enjoy with hot & cold refreshments available throughout the afternoon. A new addition of a heated marquee in a prime location to see the finish line should enable runners and spectators to enjoy the event... whatever the weather!

We hope very much you will join us this year in what we hope will be a thoroughly enjoyable event!

Many thanks,

Janis Ward

KB5 - 2016

This year the 'KB5' Road Race hosted by Edinburgh University Hare & Hounds will be held on Saturday 5th March 2016

The race starts and finishes inside the Kings Buildings Science and Engineering Campus, on West Mains Road. The course consists of a 5 mile road loop, with quite a few hills, though none of them steep. It promises to be a great day with runners of all ability taking part, many prizes to be won and it is also run for a great cause as we will be fundraising for the C-R-Y charity.

All participants must be 15 years old or over on the day of the race.

Race entry is £5 for Scottish Athletics members, £7 otherwise. Entry on the day costs an additional £1.

Online entry is now available through Entry Central herehttp://www.entrycentral.com/EUHHKB5

Join the Facebook event at: https://www.facebook.com/events/1670304983224186/

Entry on the day and registration will be available from 11:00am in Kings Buildings House, at the University of Edinburgh Kings Buildings campus. Toilets, changing and showering facilities are available. There are plenty of free car parking spaces on campus.

Entries will close at 12.40pm to allow the race to start at 1pm

Prize giving will take place promptly after the race, in KB House where there will be team and individual medals. There will also be a bake sale and refreshments.

Lasswade 10 mile Road Race

With the new year out of the way and the 2016 health regime picking up pace, I thought I would send a reminder round Club Secretarys reminding them of Lasswade AC's  10 Mile Road Race on 6 March 2016.

Numbers are filling quite well with more than half the places taken already.

With only a matter of weeks to go I would ask that you consider pushing this email out to adult members for what is sure to be a testing run over a hilly course.

They can still sign up via Entrycentral at  http://www.entrycentral.com/Lasswade-Road-Race

Your help in this matter is appreciated and I look forward to seeing many of your club vests on the day

Best regards

Brian

Updated Club Championship Table

An updated club championship table is available HERE.

There are still opportunities to score points - at this Thursday's 5k handicap, and at the final race of the year, the Black Bun Run on 31 December.

There is also still time to do a ParkRun, or indeed a marathon or an ultra if you can find one!

Please do let Nick know if you spot any errors, etc.  And although he has tried to keep track of everyone's marathons, ultra and ParkRun times, if any are missing then stop being so blooming secretive again please do let him know...
