John Muir Way Opening Ceremony
On 21st April 2014 the new John Muir Way is launched which provides a coast to coast walking, running and cycle route across the central belt of Scotland. As part of the Homecoming celebrations we are launching the John Muir Way with a Festival in Dunbar on 21st April and a ‘Flag for John Muir’ opening ceremony from Dunbar to North Berwick.
Festival producers, UZ Arts are looking for keen cyclists, walkers and runners to take part in the John Muir Way Opening Ceremony on 21st April 2014. We want you to carry our emblematic John Muir flags from the launch by the First Minister in Dunbar and take them to either 1mile stop, 5mile stop or whole leg to North Berwick (15miles).
The beautiful flags have been designed by local school children, and will be provided along with comfortable backpack/bicycle carriers.

Dunbar SciFest 2014: Volunteers wanted
If so, Dunbar’s award-winning SciFest would love to hear from you.
This year’s event takes place at the primary school and Bleachingfield on Saturday 22nd March and Sunday 23rd March from 10am - 5pm both days.
We are looking for volunteers to help out with everything from directing people around the venue, to helping out with ticketing. No scientific background is needed at all.
Whether you are able to help out for an hour or for the whole weekend, your support will help to make sure the festival is a success.
If you would like to volunteer, please email terryshevlinclerk@gmail.com
