Gala Harriers 3K Fun Run and 10K Road Race

Gala Harriers 3k Fun Run and 10k Road Race will take place on Sunday 18th May at Tweedbank Sports Complex, Galashiels TD1 3RS.  The races start and finish on the 400 m track at Tweedbank Sports Complex and follows a 2 lap fast and flat route.

10:00am  3k fun run

11:00am 10k Start

Cost: 10k £10 or (£8 SAL registered)           3k £3.00 
Race is ran under SAL regulations.   
Registration and number collection from 9.00 am.

Pre Entry by 14th May 2014 or whenever the race limit is reached whichever is earlier. Organisers prefer athletes to enter online, however there will be entry available on the day providing the race limit has not been reached.

Deafblind Scotland 10K/5K - 12th April

As the days lengthen and the sun appears (at least for one day!), consider this canal race and fun run on 12th April. You know you’ll enjoy that lovely countryside whizzing past as you do a PB!

John Muir Way Opening Ceremony

On 21st April 2014 the new John Muir Way is launched which provides a coast to coast walking, running and cycle route across the central belt of Scotland.  As part of the Homecoming celebrations we are launching the John Muir Way with a Festival in Dunbar on 21st April and a ‘Flag for John Muir’ opening ceremony from Dunbar to North Berwick.

 

Festival producers, UZ Arts are looking for keen cyclists, walkers and runners to take part in the John Muir Way Opening Ceremony on 21st April 2014.  We want you to carry our emblematic John Muir flags from the launch by the First Minister in Dunbar and take them to either 1mile stop, 5mile stop or whole leg to North Berwick (15miles).

 

The  beautiful flags have been designed by local school children, and will be provided along with comfortable backpack/bicycle carriers.

Fun Run info

Family Fun Run

If you fancy something a little shorter than a 10km, and something that the kids could run with you then why not enter the Family Fun Run. It's 3km and in the sheltered paths of Lochend Woods. We had a good turn out for this last year and lots of positive feedback. Spread the word and just turn up and enter on the day.

Dunbar SciFest 2014: Volunteers wanted

Would you like to play a part in one of Scotland’s leading science festivals?

If so, Dunbar’s award-winning SciFest would love to hear from you.

This year’s event takes place at the primary school and Bleachingfield on Saturday 22nd March and Sunday 23rd March from 10am - 5pm both days.

We are looking for volunteers to help out with everything from directing people around the venue, to helping out with ticketing. No scientific background is needed at all.

Whether you are able to help out for an hour or for the whole weekend, your support will help to make sure the festival is a success.

KB5 Road Race - Saturday 8th March

Edinburgh University Hare & Hounds are holding their annual 5-mile road race, "KB5" on Saturday 8th March 2014. A third of profits will be donated to the fantastic charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (www.c-r-y.org.uk).
