WALLPAPER

Some readers may be aware that the club site has been "done over".
Made to look a tad posher..

You may also notice that the backgroung photo is of Ian, George and
Stuart at a 10k a few years ago.

Here's what we want to try.. To keep the site "fresh" it would be nice
to change the backgroung photo every month or so.
If you have a photo that you think would look nice then please email
it to us. It doesn't have to be a race. It could even just be a nice
photo of Dunbar.
It doesn't even have to be a recent photo. If you have some old ones
then that's fine.

Don't worry if we don't show them straght away. But we will try and
get round to using as many as we can.

The Run And Become Tinto Hill Race - 13th November 2010

Important info for anyone wishing to do the Tinto Hill Race - and
remember it's also a championship counter.

Quite frankly it's a piece of p**s for those among us who've been up
Ben Nevis lately (Oooh err...)

Can you please note that this year's Tinto race is pre-entry only using the
online Sientries system (www.sientries.co.uk). This should be familiar
to anyone
has recently ran the Carnethy 5 race. The entries open at 9:00 this coming
Monday morning 4th October and will close when the limit of 250 has been
reached. There will be no entries taken on the day although the event
registration and number collection will be at Symington as usual. Can
you please
bring this to the attention of any of your club members who may be considering
entering the event.

The link to the entry page is
https://www.sientries.co.uk/event.php?elid=Y&event_id=387

This only applies to the senior race, not the junior or fun run.

Club Championship - "What's the Scores On The Doors?"

Club Championship - "What’s the Scores On The Doors?"

“Well, Larry. The names on the frames say….” Ahh.. they don’t do Saturday night telly like that any more (thank god).

Anyway, back to matters “running”…….

Results, so far, can now be found in the “Club Championship Races” section.

Please email the club with your marathon times for this year  so that we can keep this up to date (time achieved, where and when). Remember it’s your best time that counts – so if you do more than one keep letting us know.

We will also be in a position soon to list the dates of the Borders Cross Country Series for the 2010/2011 season. Remember that some of these races will also count towards the overall “scores on the doors”.

WHAT WE DID ON OUR SUMMER HOLIDAYS - II

I suppose when you set a competition that asks folks to send in pictures of them in their club vests "in unusual places" you've got to expect the unexpected.

Anyway. Three more entries. This time from Neil "J"....

A VISIT FROM WAGGA - GEOFF BREESE

A week or so back we were joined by Geoff Breese for a training run.
Luckily the weather and conditions were ideal so we went over the Doon
Hill route to give Geoff a chance to view some of our fine area. It also
gave Geoff a chance for a wee training run before taking part in the
World Duathlon Championships a few days later.

Photos of Geoff's vist to Hallhill and run round Doon Hill are here:

While some photos of the Duathlon are here:

Thanks to Jim for the pictures.

Not sure if Belhaven Best is in every duathlete's pre-event diet though!
