Workout in the Woods
My name's James Buchanan and my wife and I run www.dunbarfitness.co.uk . I would like to extend an invitation to all Dunbar Running Club members to join our Workout in the Woods session on Wednesdays at 6.30pm, meeting at the corner of Middlemass and Kellie Road. The first session will be free for members of your club and £4.00 after or 11 sessions for £40. We use a mixture of interval running, strength endurance exercises with kettlebells, medicine balls and TRX, along with 1-1 pad work. As an ex-distance runner/triathlete myself I know the importance of race pace intervals, pushing the anaerobic threshold, strengthening the ligaments in the knees and strengthening the posterior chain and core muscles for correct running technique. Various recent studies also show the benefit of this type of training for aerobic exercise. My wife Cristina is also a CYQ qualified running coach trained in the pose method. Please pass the message to your club members and I hope to see some of you next week.
Yours,
James Buchanan

Ian Sills came second overall with an impressive time of 2:10:19, with Stuart Hay finishing 4th in 2:13:55. Rhona Anderson was second female overall, finishing in 2:24:10. Lee Curtis finished in 2:40:19 just a week after competing in the Stuc a Chroin. Neal Wyatt finished in 2.44.12, Anne Hay in 2:55:41 and Neil Jones 2:59:52.

It was still pretty warm on Sunday for the Gala 10K with Grant Noble taking 6th place with a time of 35:24.
The previous weekend, the temperatures were described as like being in an oven, with Ian Rowland being the 85th finisher (out of 320 with 58 dropping out en-route) in the 53 mile West Highland Way with a time of 10:30:36.
Lee Curtis achieved a pb in the Stuc a Chroin 5000 on the same day (the 5000 representing the total climb in feet). This one is always run on the Saturday before the May Day holiday, so a date for the diary for anyone who fancies it next year......

CSSAL Track & Field
Our juniors took part yesterday and put in an excellent performance, winning many of their Division 3 events. The next events are:
- 5th June, Linwood
- 3rd July, Wishaw
It is highly likely that there will be a bus going with the juniors and spaces could be available so let Scott Turner or Roger Maguire (Junior Coaches) know if you are interested.
