The 26th Loch Leven Half Marathon took place on Saturday 16th May, with several East Lothian club runners travelling to Kinross to take part in the popular event. The changeable weather meant many of the runners were caught in a downpour in the last miles, but that was made up for with the hospitality of the local club, Kinross Road Runners, who organised the event.
Ian Rowland came in 15th overall, out of 510 runners completing the course, with a time of 1:21:05, with club mate Stuart Hay coming in 19th in 1:21:37. In his first ever Half Marathon, Brian Davidson achieved an impressive 1:41:44, finishing well ahead Jamie Cherrie (1:46:28), Anne Hay (1:46:56) and Theresa Leslie (2:06:42).
…Or so sang overtly teuchterish, off-key, beat combo “The Proclaimers”.
